About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference and practice evidence based interventions.
You will be involved in the implementation and continuous promotion of wellness and restorative care programs, exercise based interventions and falls prevention. Aligned with the organisational 'positive wellbeing' model of care you will improve and maintain the mobility and independence of our residents. Some of the residents you will look after for years to come and the relationships you build with them and their families will be both meaningful and significant.
You will also devise and deliver education programs based on the needs of the aged care sites and advise and educate staff on manual handling techniques appropriate to individual residents. Working with a dedicated team you will make a real difference to the quality of life of our residents whilst practicing a holistic model of care.
Over the last five years, Churches of Christ Care's own Allied Health Team has steadily grown and has been responsible for several innovative programs. There will be regular opportunities for both internal and external continuing professional development and opportunities to take part in research projects.
You are a dedicated Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist often commended on your enthusiasm, imagination, creativity and the ability to form relationships with a wide variety of people. With the ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to resident's needs, you are able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined work team.
Your experience and qualifications for the role should include:
Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist;
Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work within a multi-skilled team;
Current Senior First Aid certificate is highly desirable.
Aged care experience is not required as you will be supported by an experienced team and very supportive management.
